10.20.11 // A Pause in Time.

I may be a little premature with the dramatic heavy fabrics but they are one of my favorite things about fashion. I cant help but entertain, exaggerate and exploit the cooler temperatures as of recent. Being the sucker I am for long skirts, I couldn't help but acquire this deep red pleated maxi from romwe.com. All of the heavy yet rich hues of the season are absolutely killing me. Wearing another piece from my Missoni x Target battle. Sunglasses are Dita and bag is Celine.

10.17.11 // Darker My Love.

I was super excited to do a look from the new Billabong Designer Closet collection. I am originally from Malibu where my family roots are deeply embedded in surf culture which was my first exposure to the brand. When I saw the specialty pieces on their site, I was immediately in love with this paisley velour open front short sleeve cardigan. Its perfect for my Stevie Nicks style obsession. I also chose a pair of faux leather shorts which go with just about every top I own. I paired them with an Erin Wasson x Low Luv necklace and my suede Prada boots. Easy, cool, stylish, LOVE!

10.13.11 // Around Down Town.

There is nothing I can compare to downtown Los Angeles. A decrepit wasteland on one side only to cross the street to a five star entourage of money pit restaurants and venues. I consider this to be a masterpiece of human existence. We build to burn to rebirth, strange...

I trekked around in my Palladium boots which fit the setting perfect as I did not know what step would lead to me in to at a given moment. Check out the Tokyo Rising video with Pharrell Williams on their site. Its pretty amazing. It got chilly enough for a day or so and I got to wear my new sweater from Shoppalu.com that is so soft and cozy. The leather vest is Ever and my shorts are American Retro from Intermix.

10.10.11 // Closer to the Sky.

So my photographer had this awesomely, dumb idea to shoot on the roof of his garage as the day was ending and we were too tired to trot off and find some cool wall or building. I thought I was going to sail down the side and crash to the pavement a couple of time in heels but a little danger is always fun and silly when no one gets hurt. Definitely wont be doing this again any time soon though... Instantly fell in the love with the rich purple hue of these Rag and Bone Jeans. Purple is my absolute favorite color. Top is BCBG to match my Dita sunglasses and shoes are Via Spiga! Happy Monday folks ;)

10.8.11 // The Setting Sun.

Vintage Kimono, Tell Tale Hearts / Tank, Imitation / Faux Leather Shorts, Forever 21 / Vintage Necklace, Tell Tale Hearts

Into nature; always a strange place for me. As a kid, my dad would take me to many beautiful places but I have since lost that connection once embedded in my childhood memories. I love to be outside but I always tend to gravitate to streets and city dwellings since my early adulthood. Maybe it's the freedom and challenge of the big city that thrills me, but to be in nature is to be at peace with everything and there is no way to captivate freedom in a more pure way.. although, the huge ants here completely freaked me out lolz.

10.6.11 // Texture.

As a style blogger, I am constantly shooting clothing and learning so much about the different aspects of it all. One thing that really struck me in shooting apparel, is the fun yet complex nature of texture and fabric. It can appear an illusion in a photograph yet in real life be nothing more than an second hand holey peach sweater from Good Will (like above). People think you need to spend huge amounts of money to make a name for yourself in fashion blogging but what it comes down to in the end, is the image you publish and its presentation. Of course, I cant help but love my favorite designers and will continue to support their creations in my looks but for those of you out there who get discouraged, I wanted to show you that not all that you see is reality and a name is not everything. Fabric and texture give dimension and feel to an image. They can bring a flat, boring photo to life... My fellow bloggers and followers are where I draw my constant inspiration and I want everyone to be a part of this wonderful expressive outlet; blogging. :)

10.3.11 // Missoni x Target.

I woke up at the crack of dawn and waited for the doors to open like a total nerd for the Missoni for Target collection. The anticipation of the collaboration and the intensity of the crowd was borderline crazy but I survived with a lot of really cool pieces. Needless to say, everything was sold out in about 20 minutes... This top was one of my favorites from the collection being that I am a sucker for neutrals. Did anyone else score some cool stuff?

I paired it with some simple 7 for all Mankind shorts, Barneys Co Op Boots and a silk head scarf to vibe it up. In all, I believe it was my favorite collaboration thus far for Target. Its going to be hard to top!
