8.30.11 // White Wash.

Dita, Corsair Optical Glasses / Zero + Maria Cornejo, Dress / Proenza Schouler, PS1 Bag / Barneys Co-Op, Brenda Booties

I had an amazing opportunity working with an optical company that I truly love called Dita. I own several pairs of their handmade sunglasses which are absolutely stunning. I place a lot of value on quality when it comes to glasses because they are so impactful. When you wear them, they are the first thing people notice. A few of my upcoming looks will feature several different styles of Dita optics that i really love. I was dying of heat but managed to get through it all with my fantastic sister-in-law shooting. She can make anything look beautiful.

8.28.11 // Pleats.

Skirt, Ever // Shrug Cardigan, Barneys Co Op // Sunglasses, Mosely Tribes // Leopard Tassel Purse, Barneys New York Collection

Super in to the pleated skirt trend right now. I think they are so lovely. Got this cute purse from Barneys New York Collection for a steal. Extremely excited about it! Fall is starting to trickle in and there are so many amazing pieces from every brand. On the top of my shopping list is a statement jacket and a pair of leather pants. Now can it actually get cold already and not be 100 degrees outside???

8.25.11 // Standing in a Shadow.

Finding good vintage always seems to be a lot of work. I don't have the time or patience to sift through racks and piles sometimes. This is unfortunate because I know there is a lot of amazing things I am passing up. I got this amazing vintage blouse from Shoppalu and it is in crazy good condition; not a stray seam, ink dot, or tiny hole. I really appreciate when people take the time to do the work for you. Everything I get from the site looks almost new! I definitely recommend it for those who truly love and treasure one of kind pieces of history. I got these shorts from Intermix by Loeffler Randall. Shoes are this really cool line called Thorocraft. An easy summer day outfit. :)

8.21.11 // Gray Matters. Giveaway.

While I was in San Francisco, I visited my favorite shopping destination, Harputs, where I could easily blow my entire saving if I had any. The owner, Gus, is so passionate and alive that you feel his aura every time you wear something from his collection. This trip, I indulged in this gray hooded blouse which is one of my favorite things in my closet. Everything garment is so unique, so versatile, and so well made. Complete joy will be the day they open show in LA. The skirt is T Wang from Barneys; a season staple.

Enter to win my bracelet from No. A Boutique by leaving a comment and following @themavenpost and @numberaboutqiue on Twitter! If you haven't been to their site or store yet, you can expect to find all things hip and cool at this rad store.

Finally pulled out my velvet Theysken's flats. Was a little hesitant about doing so with the massive amount of popularity they got this season but I love them just the same. :) Ring is by House of Harlow.

8.18.11 // Cameo.

Eek! The Cameo Lookbook shot by the incredibly talented Kristy Mann is out! I had so much fun getting the chance to do this project with a really cool team. A touch of vintage nostalgia paired with modern cuts and patterns makes Cameo the epitome of LA cool.

Been shooting like crazy every free day I get. Blogging is not as easy as it looks sometimes, I swear. Im finally done packing up my bedroom at my dads. Its been 3 years since Ive lived there but Ive always held on to it. Its so strange to think that it wont be there anymore but very cleansing at the same time. Life is becoming such a whirlwind. Project is coming up in Las Vegas next week, super busy at work, Nik has showcases all this week... I think I need another vacation soon.

8.8.11 // Black vs. Blonde.

So, I absolutely adore the line Mason and this season is no exception. When I saw this top I had the strange feeling of home. Two neutral tones, classic silhouette, silky fabric... I melted right in to it. I encourage you to check out the entire collection because it is absolute madness. Being the bag nut I am, I finally caved and got a Balenciaga. I will admit I am destitute, penniless, broke, but completely fulfilled! Finally settling in to my new role as a marketing director. I never thought I would actually do what I went to school for but alas, here I am. All those days sitting in class sure that I would graduate and have no job sound funny now. If you are in a similar situation, trust me, you are doing the right thing by educating yourself. It doesn't seem like it at the time but times change...Wow my roots are atrocious!

7.2.11 // Hard as fluff.

Leather, Ever // Jacket, Underline by Doo.ri // Dress, Isabel Marant // Bag, Alexander Wang // Wedges, Proenza Schouler

Finally back from my trip and back at work. It was so wonderful getting out of the heat but by the end I had begun to miss it. So much amazing shopping in San Francisco; I will share my finds next post!

I would like to take a moment to congratulate Andy, my photographer and close friend, on his new position as West coast regional manager of visuals for Vince. I just want you to know how proud I am of you and how much I appreciate your hard work.
