3.26.11 // Tones of Mood.

The dreary weather has really gotten the better of me over the past week. Its hard to be inspired when its wet and windy and cloudy. Such a change of pace for the desert terrain. Ive been relegated to shooting inside by the piercing cold but many people are probably laughing at me because I have no idea what real cold is... Was in the mood for some stripes apparently, the top is Current/Elliott and the leggings American Apparel. Found this amazing Parker beaded jacket shopping the other day, as well as the Erin Wasson x Low Luv bracelet/ring. The shorts are old Miss Sixty I dug out of storage. Feeling under the weather but I hope it passes soon...

An early morning in my dad's backyard with photographer Ann He. Her work immediately caught my attention with its moody tones and the intriguing mystery that surrounds her artistic style. I fell in love with this Rodebjer maxi skirt; the lines and angles of the print are so appealing to me. In a VPL bralette top, Stella McCartney platforms, and Urban Outfitter sockies...

3.23.11 // Closet Shopping.

I decided with all the new looks and posting, that I should shop my closet a little and pull out some old school outfits. For many of us, we shop, wear once, shop, move on, and forget the "old stuff"... I would like to think of style as a metamorphosis but pulling from the back of your closet is like reaching back into your own history. When I rediscover things from times past, my first thought is "this is so not me anymore" but when I really think about it, it is a piece of me. Some emotion or event is connected to every look and how we present ourselves. This romper is Topshop from Opening Ceremony, since we don't have a store here =(, the best is made of recycled leather, and the shoes are Sergio Rossi.

3.20.11 // Visual Adhesive Signature.

This will probably be my new uniform. I couldn't feel more at home in this look. Sweater is T by Alexander Wang but the quality is collection quality; very good piece. Got the trousers at H & M for twenty five dollars and they are so comfortable. Jeffery Campbell wedges, Annie Costello Brown necklace, and Hat Attack hat that is glued to my cranium. =) The rain is making the day so dreary and uninspiring here in LA but relaxing is a nice change too... photos

3.16.11 // Tree On A Wall.

There are still times in my life when I feel as if Gilt Groupe dictates my schedule for the day and obviously blowout sales are marked high priority for 8:45am wake up time. I was able to obtain this Leroy and Perry oversized short sleeve alpaca sweater for a sweet $39 from $300. Mission accomplished. I greedily had many other items in my cart but finding my emotional center, I parted with them before check out. A sad departure... Found these one of a kind shorts made from vintage materials at LF as well as the Kelsi Dagger boots. Fell in love with the new triangle tiered necklace from Urban Outfitters. Im not usually a UO shopper but I wandered in on a whim and found a lot of cool things... Never say never. Haven't been in the mood to cake on makeup in quite some time, it seems to be more trouble than anything these past couple days. Sometimes its nice to be raw and natural. :)

3.14.11 // What to Wear, Where Party.

Fashions favorite IT girls, Katherine Power and Hillary Kerr from Who What Wear, held a party at Satine Boutique in LA for their new book "What to Wear, Where" as well as there upcoming shoe line. Samantha Ronson DJing, tons of fashionable chicas, and all around amazing time with friends. Got a copy of the book and its pretty amazing. Wearing my new Helmut Lang holey sweater (not sure how else to describe it), Helmut Lang Leggings, Proenza Schouler wedges, and an arrowhead necklace from LF.

3.12.11 // Shiny Tiny Dress.

Finally a day off from work and life. Have been going pretty crazy for the past week. Took a day to relax and shop and shoot with Andy. Somehow you seem to forget all the things that suffocate you in everyday life when you are lying in a grassy knoll in a sequin mini dress. It is from Shareen Vinatge in downtown LA. One of my favorite shopping destinations in the entire city. I just threw it on with some tights and suede wedges by Trouve. Finding ways do decompress and find happy balance in life...

3.3.11 // Drape, Leather, and Fringe.

I blogged about these Proenza Schouler wedges ages ago but am now finally able to call them my own. I am completely obsessed. Same goes for the Helmut Lang Leather Leggings. Got both completely on sale, thank god! After a day of shopping in Beverly Hills, decided to wander around the back streets of the city. The drape cardigan is from Ever and the fringe bag is Vanessa Bruno.

3.2.11 // Red Lanterns.

Chinatown is always a fun experience in every big city. In Los Angeles, it sits on the East side of downtown. Though I feel like it has gotten quieter over the years, there are still cool little shops and sites to fall in love with. I found these ceramic cranes that I had been looking for for almost a year as well as a necklace from a little jewelry stand. Wearing a Rick Owens top and Helmut Lang pants today. Bag is Jas MB from London, necklace is from H&M, peep toe booties by Via Spiga. So down with my new Dita sunglasses, so amazing!
