When I was a little girl and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my reply was that I wanted to play dress up forever. As an adult, I still feel the same only now, I am even more enthusiastic and knowledgeable about fashion. I couldn't say that I can identify with any genre and as much I want to be consistent in my look, I just cant help but fall in love with one single category. Whether it is designer, vintage, contemporary, self made, as long as you love it, that's what matters. The ability to be a chameleon and embrace every dynamic of fashion is what continues to inspire me and grow. Does anyone have thoughts on this?
Looking past the fact that this dress this dress is so tight that I could hardly breathe, I felt like a barbie doll which is a look I typically try to avoid but sometimes women need to feel empowered and feeling beautiful is necessary. The dress is by Please Doing Business which I got from my new favorite shop Stanton James. Sunglesses are Dita, shoes are Barneys Co Op and vintage necklace from Tell Tale Hearts.

WOW. you are totally embracing that dress. IT IS GORGEOUS. sometimes i don't mind not being able to breathe in the name of fashion. Love everything about this. The hair..the tortoise glasses..the boots and the fact you rocked tights, which gives it an autumnal feel.
ReplyDeleteGAHHHHHH you just bloody rock. Happy Wednesday from England Marie x.
...be a chameleon ... create illusions!
ReplyDeleteBecome familiar with the Queen chameleon, 'Veruschka'.
Watch the 60's movie 'Blowup', where in a 2 minute scene she oozes pure magic.
She was amazing as a High Fashion Icon or a leopard in a tree. No, literally a leopard in a tree.
What was her look? Veruschka, the chameleon, always different, always changing.
amazing dress and glasses :)
ReplyDeleteYou look like a goddess in that dress. Absolutely beautiful. x

So beautiful! The dress definitely accentuates your lovely figure. Love the sunglasses as well! You do remind me of a vintage Barbie, now that you mention it, but in the best way possible.
ReplyDeleteI can absolutely relate to being more of a chameleon rather than settled in my own style, but I've learned to kind of embrace it. Maybe one day we'll settle down with something more consistent, but at the same time, I find your blog very refreshing because you always have a new look that is still very true to you!
When I was a little girl I told people I wanted to be a fashion designer, and that's what I do... I guess you love fashion or you don't... It's a feeling deep inside, and it's very hard to explain how something so material can make you so happy...
ReplyDeleteThe dress is very beautiful... You should wear clothes like this one more often because it fits you very well!
