10.6.11 // Texture.

As a style blogger, I am constantly shooting clothing and learning so much about the different aspects of it all. One thing that really struck me in shooting apparel, is the fun yet complex nature of texture and fabric. It can appear an illusion in a photograph yet in real life be nothing more than an second hand holey peach sweater from Good Will (like above). People think you need to spend huge amounts of money to make a name for yourself in fashion blogging but what it comes down to in the end, is the image you publish and its presentation. Of course, I cant help but love my favorite designers and will continue to support their creations in my looks but for those of you out there who get discouraged, I wanted to show you that not all that you see is reality and a name is not everything. Fabric and texture give dimension and feel to an image. They can bring a flat, boring photo to life... My fellow bloggers and followers are where I draw my constant inspiration and I want everyone to be a part of this wonderful expressive outlet; blogging. :)

  1. I agree with you Marie. I personally don't have a big shopping budget but I still try to make the most of it everytime I shop. You can't buy creativity!

  4. I love what u say. Cheers me up too:)). Shots look great! Yes about the cheap thrills, but I think more respect comes when u actually are serious with regards to some of the expensive pieces like the maxi skirt we shot in "into the woods". I think it's important to spend outside of a comfort zone. I haven't done it in a while, but when I did, I felt a sort of power. It's a rush. And it brings it up a notch... But I don't need to tell u. You pretty much always have the best of the best. Haha...

  5. I agree with you, it's not all about materialism, but the artistic presentation and attention to detail that captures hearts. This look definitely stole mine. Looking sultry and beautiful, girl!

  10. Looking hot!! Totally agree. It's down to how a piece is worn...not the price tag..not the label.

  11. Perfectly worded. I couldn't agree more!

Style, inspiration, creativity come from within; the clothes we buy are to merely supplement what we already have.

  16. I couldn't have said it better myself! I'm not denying that I love designer clothing, but that doesn't mean that more ordinary objects can't be turned into beautiful things, or aren't beautiful already. I love these shots; they are very raw, simple, and really showcase your beauty, as well as the delicate knitwork of the sweater!

The creativity of style is the most important aspect. You can be rich, have a blog and nobody who check out it because you are not stylish...
I love second hand clothes and I admire so much people who can wear them in an awesome way!

  25. Well said! I love your photo styling, wardrobe styling and it doesn't hurt that you are gorgeous! ;)

As of now, I've just got the hubby for the most part taking pictures... I think it would be interesting to pair up with a professional photographer to take my blog to the next level.

You are such a doll and an inspiration, Marie!

    Love,

    Marie :)
